Starting locally
Starting an investigation with an olive grove, an old building or a personal story. Helping young people share their connection to their home towns with peers from other countries.
AYEV / ERASMUS+ YOUTH WORK
We bring local memory, cultural heritage and the environment into young people’s learning experiences. We are preparing new youth exchanges with international partners.
01 / WHY ERASMUS+?
We aim to turn AYEV’s experience in local research into a learning space where young people ask their own questions, make decisions together and create things.
Starting an investigation with an olive grove, an old building or a personal story. Helping young people share their connection to their home towns with peers from other countries.
Examining the source of a claim about climate. Comparing online information with field observations. Helping young people distinguish what they hear, what they see and what they can support with evidence.
Reaching young people with limited access to international experiences. Addressing language, travel, accessibility and peer support needs during preparation.
Turning research into short videos, proposals from young people and local sharing activities. Giving young people room to take responsibility as participants, researchers and content creators.
02 / AYEV’S FIRST KA152-YOU APPLICATION
Zeytinlerle İklimi Anlamak
What can an olive tree tell us about climate? We wanted to connect soil, water, growers’ work and a product that reaches our tables in one story.
We submitted “Understanding Climate Through Olives” to the Turkish National Agency in the second application round of 2026. If the project is approved, we plan to hold a youth exchange in Ayvalık where young people from five countries take their research into the field.
Young people will prepare their own questions, put them to growers and compare climate information with their observations. They will turn what they learn into short videos and proposals for the olive groves of 2035.
A grant decision is pending. The information below describes the programme proposed in the application. Delivery depends on grant approval.
Checking the source, date and geographical scope of climate information. Discovering local traces through a town game. Putting your own questions to an agricultural engineer.
Examining soil, trees and growing conditions in a cooperative’s olive grove. Trying a short harvesting activity if conditions allow. Exploring production stages at Nova Vera and traditional tools at the museum.
Developing proposals for climate-resilient olive systems in six international teams. Sharing young people’s questions and ideas for solutions at a meeting with the municipality.
Making six short, subtitled videos. Reflecting on your learning through examples in the Youthpass process. Contributing to a local sharing activity after returning home.

YOUR QUESTIONS
There are no open participant calls yet. If grant applications are approved, we will announce the conditions, dates and application steps for each project. You can follow updates on our Instagram account.
The “Understanding Climate Through Olives” application is for young people aged 18–25. We aim to support participation by young people with limited access to international experiences. The conditions for each project will be explained in its participant call.
If the project goes ahead, we plan to use the Youthpass process to help young people reflect on their learning and record it through concrete examples. Setting their own learning goals and recognising what has changed by the end will be part of this work.
